PRIVACY POLICY NOTICE

Protecting your privacy is important to Heritage Community Bank and our employees.  We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it.  In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information.  The following policy serves as a standard for all Heritage Community Bank employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information of our consumer customers.

The use of the words “we, our and us” indicates Heritage Community Bank and “you and yours” represents the consumer customer who has a continuing relationship with us, such as a deposit account, loan account, or safe deposit box.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect “nonpublic personal information” about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms including electronic communications;
  • Information about your transactions with us;
  • Information about your transactions with nonaffiliated third parties;
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.

“Nonpublic personal information” is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.  For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balances and history.

WHAT INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law or authorized by you.

We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to other third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf.  For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to third parties to assist us in completing transactions authorized by you, such as check printing, data processing, credit bureaus, insurance companies whose products we offer and to government entities in response to subpoenas. 

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY OF INFORMATION
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

You can help safeguard your personal information by not disclosing your personal information, account information, identification numbers, passwords or codes to others.  Beware of callers requesting confidential information about you or your account.  No one from Heritage Community Bank will ever telephone you and request your account number, PIN or other passwords/codes.  If you should receive such a call, please notify us immediately at 423-636-5000.  Also, when on the Internet, be sure to use only a secure browser and exit online applications when you are finished using them.
